1:1 is all you need at times for macro.
A photograph can be a Beautiful thing.

you nailed it, Stu! great capture. nice n' sharp and beautiful colors.
i've chased those little buggers around and know it is a good day if you can capture one in focus. well done.

Fantastic shot! I can't believe you captured the pollen all over the bee's body.

And just to be picky, macro is 1:1. Anything else is marketing.

edit: btw, what lens were you using? The EXIF says 0mm, so I assume it was a manual lens.

Well to be picky too, any thing less than 1:1 is 'close focusing.'

Cool shot though. One of these days, I'm going to get me some bee glue and start shooting those guys. Well done.

Thanks Mike, I actually caught this fellow after he spent a cold night outside. So he wasn't moving all that fast.

I was using a Vivitar 2x Macro Teleconverter, with a Pentax 50mm f1.7.

So, at least according to the info I've found it turned the lens into an honest 1:1 macro lens.
